Special Ability

An accomplished psychiatrist of considerable celebrity, Dr. Georgiy Seward was once best known for his populist writings on the subject of the human mind. His practice came to a premature end when suspected of his wife’s murder, a journalist with fame of her own whose demise came in a locked room that defied plausibility. In the two years since, scrutiny was immense and it was only with his past accomplishments that he was able to escape prosecution. Now haunted by imaginings of his visitant wife, Seward is no longer trusting of the cognitive faculties that once made his career. It was amid this despair that an opportunity arose—one that at last promised an answer. Thus, he finds himself participating in a tournament of logic on a little-traveled island, one on which not everyone is a stranger. There, he is reunited with not only the niece whose family suspected him of murdering their sister and aunt, but also a former patient whose twin personalities were among the most challenging in all his years of practice. By making his way to the game's end, he will know the identity of the murderer and the solution to a mystery that many, including the world's most seasoned investigators, thought unsolvable.
